Bloody brilliant video. The best consumer electronics commercial I’ve ever seen. Puts Best Buy to shame and the other supper poopers as well. Why don’t we see this kind of creativity for marketing to consumer more often?

Saturn a retailer of consumer electronics in Germany. This television commercial connects the “survival of the fittest” concept as experienced by now extinct reptiles and applies it to the emergence of top quality models available through Saturn.

It’s a beautifully crafted piece of work. Great art direction, perfect, seamless CGI, the wonderful colours really sell the mechanical evolution idea in this video clip. The stunning vfx were handled by Barcelona-based Furia with modelling and some animation assistance from Big Lazy Robot.

The final German voiceover, translated in English as:

“The selection was tough, but now it’s there: The strongest technology of all times. Mercilessly low priced. SATURN We hate expensive.”

In German we know what they’re selling even without hearing what she says. Saturn is kind of like Best Buy here.
